Royal Marines from M Company 42 Commando: Adventure Training in Cornwall

30/8/2018

Over a couple of glorious August days, Royal Marines from M Company 42 Commando joined forces with the Blue Dot Adventure team for a tailor-made Adventure Training (AT) package on Cornwall’s rugged western coastline.

The group set out from Newlyn and sea kayaked and Stand Up Paddleboarded (SUP’d) the 16 miles return trip over to Mousehole Harbour. They were lucky enough to  be followed by seals as they dipped in and out of the rugged coastline,  refuelling with a pasty pitstop in Mousehole.

The second day of military adventure training saw the Royal Marines over at Sennen Cove, coasteering and exploring the sea caves followed by an afternoon of surfing. This is the third time M Company 42 Commando RM have booked adventure training packages with Blue Dot Adventure and  Sgt Liam Hill RM said “Blue Dot Adventure ran a Mountain Bike Instructor course for me four years ago and ever since we have used them for our AT.”

Blenheim Palace will once again be the venue for BBC Countryfile Live when it returns for a third year between the 2nd and 5th of August, 2018. But this year there’s a chance to get in the water and try your hand at different paddle sports!

British Canoeing will be sponsoring the water sports zone alongside Palm Equipment, Wavesport and Pyranha and have asked Cave and Canyon (Blue Dot Adventure's sister adventure training company based in the Yorkshire Dales) to provide the team and kit to make the 4-days of water activities go with a splash!

Visitors will be able to try paddle sports including kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddleboarding. Our experienced team will be there to ensure everyone; young to older, new to water sports or experienced, stay safe and have a good time!

Find out more about the tailored water sports activities we run in the UK and abroad for groups on our Kayaking and Canoeing page. We also run waters sports from our pop up at Mount Edgcumbe in Plymouth from Easter to October.
